Scientists Determine Alternative Insecticide Dramatically Reduces Malaria Transmission

Summary (8-10 sentences):

Benin’s Entomologic Research Center with the effects of bug repellent in homes. They applied insecticide on the walls of 350,000 different homes. None of the residents were infected with malaria. Only a few of the mosquitoes were even carrying the disease. Their experiment showed that the spray was a success! For all of the areas that got sprayed, the infected bites went down 94% during their study. In conclusion, Benin’s Entomologic Research Center found a new way to keep malaria from entering a person’s home. This technique could be very useful and save many lives.

What you liked and why:

I liked that this experiment could save so many lives. Malaria is a very deadly disease and now there is a more effective way to prevent it. With this bug repellent spray the chances that a person will get a bite are very slim. In Africa malaria kills thousands of people each year and this spray will keep thousands from even getting malaria.
